Sofia Panagiotidou was born in 1977 in Kozani. She is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Western Macedonia, Greece, while she is a research associate at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has obtained a Diploma (five-year degree) in Mechanical Engineering, an M.Sc. in Management of Production Systems and a Ph.D. in Maintenance and Statistical Quality Control from the same university. She has worked as a Post Doc researcher in Erasmus University of Rotterdam and as a visiting lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Western Macedonia and in the Department of Production and Management Engineering of Demokritus University of Thrace. Her work has been published in a variety of journals, including Production and Operations Management, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics and others.
Her main research interests are in the area of Statistical Quality Control, Maintenance and Supply Chain Management.
